I Believe

Mǝ̀ mbiŋǝ̀

The Apostles Creed —
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The Holy Catholic Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Glorious Mysteries (5 decades):

1. The Resurrection Jn 20: 11 – 17

Yesǔ a bǝŋnǝ nǝwô

11 But Mary was standing outside at the tomb weeping. So, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb, 12 and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 They told her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I don’t know where they have laid him.”14 When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, and didn’t know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?” She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away. 16″Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him, “Rabboni!” which is to say, “Teacher!”17 Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers, and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’

After the Rosary:

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy,
Hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve
To thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.
Turn then, most gracious Advocate,
Thine eyes of mercy toward us,
And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus,
O Clement O Loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

John 15:9-17

https://youtu.be/gpYHzgvM9Mk

Jesus said to his disciples:

15:9 “As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love.

15:10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.

15:11 I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.

15:12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

15:13 No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

15:14 You are my friends if you do what I command you.

15:15 I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father.

15:16 You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name.

15:17 I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another.”

Third Sunday of Lent, Year B Gospel – John 2:13-25

March 7th, 2021

Gospel – John 2:13-25

https://youtu.be/gTrI00o7tz4

13 Since the Passover of the Jews was near, Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

14 He found in the temple area those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, as well as the money changers seated there.

15 He made a whip out of cords and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and oxen, and spilled the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables,

16 and to those who sold doves he said, “Take these out of here, and stop making my Father’s house a marketplace.”

17 His disciples recalled the words of Scripture

18 At this the Jews answered and said to him, “What sign can you show us for doing this?”

19 Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.”

20 The Jews said, “This temple has been under construction for forty-six years, and you will raise it up in three days?”

21 But he was speaking about the temple of his body.

22 Therefore, when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they came to believe the Scripture and the word Jesus had spoken.

23 While he was in Jerusalem for the feast of Passover, many began to believe in his name when they saw the signs he was doing.

24 But Jesus would not trust himself to them because he knew them all,

25 and did not need anyone to testify about human nature. He himself understood it well.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Be watchful! Be alert!
You do not know when the time will come.
It is like a man traveling abroad.
He leaves home and places his servants in charge,
each with his own work,
and orders the gatekeeper to be on the watch.
Watch, therefore;
you do not know when the Lord of the house is coming,
whether in the evening, or at midnight,
or at cockcrow, or in the morning.
May he not come suddenly and find you sleeping.
What I say to you, I say to all: ‘Watch!’”

Prayer to our Guardian Angel

Prayer to Our Guardian Angels.

Angel of God, my Guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day (night) be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

Andzɛ̀rǝ̀ Nywè, ǹlinǝ̀ wa . Nywe fya wa a mbwo wwò mbǝ’ǝ akòŋnǝ̀ zhi. Yii ndzwi nǝbenǝ mwò nǝ njwe senǝ, mǝ ŋwà’àsǝnǝ ̀nkà’a wwo, mǝ dǝ̀sǝnǝ̀ mânduŋǝ a mbwo mwò, mǝ chisǝnǝ̀ wa, mǝ lìnǝnǝ wa, Adzwili .

Gen.18 Angels visited Abraham in human form.

“And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, …”

Ex. 32:34 God said to Moses, my angel shall go ahead of you. “Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.”

Mark 1:13 Angels minister to Jesus.  “and he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him.”

Acts 5:19 Angels freed Peter, likewise Paul and Silas. “But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out.”

Ex. 13:21-22 Angels went before the Israelites in a Pilar of fire and of cloud. “By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.”

Psalm 91:11 Angels would lift us up and save us if in danger. “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.”

The Seven Sorrows, also known as Dolors of the Blessed Virgin Mary, refers to the seven most painful moments that the Virgin Mother encountered during her lifetime as the Christ Jesus’ Mother. Simeon prophesied the sorrows during the Baby Jesus presentation at the temple by his Mother Mary and fostered father, Joseph. He said, “…And a sword will pierce your own soul too.” (Luke 2:35) Below are photos, quotations and litany of the Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
