John 15:9-17

https://youtu.be/gpYHzgvM9Mk

Jesus said to his disciples:

15:9 “As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love.

15:10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.

15:11 I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.

15:12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

15:13 No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

15:14 You are my friends if you do what I command you.

15:15 I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father.

15:16 You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name.

15:17 I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another.”

12 The Spirit drove Jesus out into the desert,

13 and he remained in the desert for forty days, tempted by Satan. He was among wild beasts, and the angels ministered to him.

14 After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God:

15 “This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is   at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcvmdw2rPWY&list=PL_ihUsy6_PLLaTEQcKsWN8UQoDp4duUsY

Gospel – Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18

Jesus said to his disciples:

1 “Take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father.

2 When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.

3 But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing,

4 so that your almsgiving may be secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

5 “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.

6 But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

16 “When you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites. They neglect their appearance, so that they may appear to others to be fasting. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward

17 But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face

18 so that you may not appear to be fasting, except to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees what is hidden will repay you.”

40 A leper came to Jesus and kneeling down begged him and said, “If you wish, you can make me clean.”

41 Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand, touched him, and said to him,

“I do will it. Be made clean.”

42 The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean.

43 Then, warning the him sternly, he dismissed him at once.

44 He said to him, “See that you tell no one anything, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.”

45 The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter. He spread the report abroad so that it was impossible for Jesus to enter a town openly. He remained outside in deserted places, and people kept coming to him from everywhere.

FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR B

FEBRUARY 7TH, 2021

Gospel: Mark 1: 29-39

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l12uwQ1GfO4&list=PL_ihUsy6_PLLaTEQcKsWN8UQoDp4duUsY EPIPHANY OF THE LORD Solemnity BAPTISM OF THE LORD FEAST

Gospel  Mark 1:29-39

29 On leaving the synagogue Jesus entered the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John.

30 Simon’s mother-in-law lay sick with a fever. They immediately told him about her.

31 He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up. Then the fever left her and she waited on them.

32 When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were ill or possessed by demons.

33 The whole town was gathered at the door.

34 He cured many who were sick with various diseases, and he drove out many demons, not permitting them to speak because they knew him.

35 Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed.

36 Simon and those who were with him pursued him 37 and on finding him said, “Everyone is looking for you.”

38 He told them, “Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also. For this purpose have I come.” 39 So he went into their synagogues, preaching and driving out demons throughout the whole of Galilee.

Gospel – Mark 1:29-39

29 On leaving the synagogue Jesus entered the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John. Bwo fu ndya-nywe nkǝ mbi nghǝ ndya bǝ̀ Shimun nǝ Andrǝyà nǝ Dzemsǝ̀ nǝ Dzonǝ̀.

30 Simon’s mother-in-law lay sick with a fever. They immediately told him about her. Noŋsǝ Shimun noŋǝ nǝ fiba, bǝ kǝ mbi ghərə a zhi ngə lya ma a dzwi.

31 He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up. Then the fever left her and she waited on them. Â ghǝtə nǝbenǝ zhǝ, ngaŋǝ abwo zhi nti’i nkwesǝ yi a bǝ̀ŋnǝ̀. Fibà wwa ti’ì mɛ’ɛtǝ̀ yi â nti’i nteŋtǝ̂ wwa.

32 When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were ill or possessed by demons. A bǝ fǝ̀’ǝ̀ nkwifò, â ndeŋtǝ-dì’ì, bǝ yìi nǝ bǝ̀ bǝtsǝ̀mǝ ma bwo kǝ ghonǝ nǝ bu ma bwo dzwi nǝ̀ ǝ̀liŋǝ̀ mbwo zhǝ.

33 The whole town was gathered at the door. Bǝ̀ bǝtsǝmǝ ala ala’a wwa ti’i nyìi nkoŋsǝ ntsǔ ndya.

34 He cured many who were sick with various diseases, and he drove out many demons, not permitting them to speak because they knew him. A tsu’u bǝ̀ bâ nǝ̀nǝ ma bwo dzwi nǝ̀ ǝ̀bǝŋtǝ̀ mǝghònǝ, nkǝ nsǝrǝ ǝliŋǝ nnu ba nǝ̀nǝ̌, la kǎkǝ mɛ̀’ɛ̀tǝ ngǝ ǝ boŋnǝ mbǝ’ǝma bwo zhi yɛ.

35 Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed. Âzaŋsǝ̀ mbǝŋnǝ za’a fǝ̀’ǝ̀ njwe boŋǝ kù’ù, nghǝ, adi’i wu ma ŋù daŋǝ̀ bikàkǝ wu dzwi nti’i ntaŋǝ ndzuŋǝ̀ wǝ.

36 Simon and those who were with him pursued him Shimùn bwo bǝ bu ma bwo bwo dzwi ti’i nswa’à yɛ,

37 and on finding him said, “Everyone is looking for you.” lya nzǝ yi nswiŋǝ ngǝ, “Ŋù ntsǝ̀mǝ swà’à wwo”

38 He told them, “Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also. For this purpose have I come.” A swiŋǝ nǝ̀ bwo ngǝ, A binǝ̀ ghǝ nǝ ǝtuŋǝ dzwu ma ǝ dzwi nǝbenǝ fǐ mǝ̀ nkǝ fya əbòŋnǝ wǝ, mbǝ’ǝma li ànyù zu ma mǝ̀ yìi mǝ ghǝ̀rǝnǝ̀ la.

39 So he went into their synagogues, preaching and driving out demons throughout the whole of Galilee. A ti’i nghǝ nku mǝmǝ̀ ndyâ-nywe bwo, nfya ə̀bòŋnə nkǝ nsǝrǝ ǝliŋǝ nnu bǝ̀ mǝmǝ Galìli ǹtsǝ̀mǝ̀.
