Third Sunday of Lent, Year B Gospel – John 2:13-25

March 7th, 2021

Gospel – John 2:13-25

https://youtu.be/gTrI00o7tz4

13 Since the Passover of the Jews was near, Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

14 He found in the temple area those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, as well as the money changers seated there.

15 He made a whip out of cords and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and oxen, and spilled the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables,

16 and to those who sold doves he said, “Take these out of here, and stop making my Father’s house a marketplace.”

17 His disciples recalled the words of Scripture

18 At this the Jews answered and said to him, “What sign can you show us for doing this?”

19 Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.”

20 The Jews said, “This temple has been under construction for forty-six years, and you will raise it up in three days?”

21 But he was speaking about the temple of his body.

22 Therefore, when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they came to believe the Scripture and the word Jesus had spoken.

23 While he was in Jerusalem for the feast of Passover, many began to believe in his name when they saw the signs he was doing.

24 But Jesus would not trust himself to them because he knew them all,

25 and did not need anyone to testify about human nature. He himself understood it well.

Gospel – Mark 9:2-10

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWj1ooEeRdA&list=PL_ihUsy6_PLLaTEQcKsWN8UQoDp4duUsY Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Basic Multiplication by 2 and 3

Gospel – Mark 9:2-10

2 Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up a high mountain apart by themselves. And he was transfigured before them,

3 and his clothes became dazzling white, such as no fuller on earth could bleach them.

4 Then Elijah appeared to them along with Moses, and they were conversing with Jesus.

5 Then Peter said to Jesus in reply, “Rabbi, it is good that we are here! Let us make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” 6 He hardly knew what to say, they were so terrified.

7 Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them; from the cloud came a voice, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him

8 Suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone but Jesus alone with them.

9 As they were coming down from the mountain, he charged them not to relate what they had seen to anyone, except when the Son of Man had risen from the dead.

10  So they kept the matter to themselves, questioning what rising from the dead meant.

12 The Spirit drove Jesus out into the desert,

13 and he remained in the desert for forty days, tempted by Satan. He was among wild beasts, and the angels ministered to him.

14 After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God:

15 “This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is   at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

Ash Wednesday Year B Gospel – Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcvmdw2rPWY&list=PL_ihUsy6_PLLaTEQcKsWN8UQoDp4duUsY

Gospel – Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18

Jesus said to his disciples:

1 “Take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father.

2 When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.

3 But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing,

4 so that your almsgiving may be secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

5 “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.

6 But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

16 “When you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites. They neglect their appearance, so that they may appear to others to be fasting. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward

17 But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face

18 so that you may not appear to be fasting, except to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees what is hidden will repay you.”

40 A leper came to Jesus and kneeling down begged him and said, “If you wish, you can make me clean.”

41 Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand, touched him, and said to him,

“I do will it. Be made clean.”

42 The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean.

43 Then, warning the him sternly, he dismissed him at once.

44 He said to him, “See that you tell no one anything, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.”

45 The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter. He spread the report abroad so that it was impossible for Jesus to enter a town openly. He remained outside in deserted places, and people kept coming to him from everywhere.

Gospel: Mark 1: 29-39

Gospel  Mark 1:29-39

29 On leaving the synagogue Jesus entered the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John.

30 Simon’s mother-in-law lay sick with a fever. They immediately told him about her.

31 He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up. Then the fever left her and she waited on them.

32 When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were ill or possessed by demons.

33 The whole town was gathered at the door.

34 He cured many who were sick with various diseases, and he drove out many demons, not permitting them to speak because they knew him.

35 Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed.

36 Simon and those who were with him pursued him 37 and on finding him said, “Everyone is looking for you.”

38 He told them, “Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also. For this purpose have I come.” 39 So he went into their synagogues, preaching and driving out demons throughout the whole of Galilee.

1. For we are partners working altogether for God and we are all in God’s field. For we are only builders of God’s house, using the gifts that he gave us free. Chorus: We are fellow workers with God, We are fellow workers with God, We are fellow workers with God, We are fellow workers with our God. 2. Will you build the house of God in gold? Will you build in silver or in wood? Will you build God’s house in grass or in straw? Your material shall tell your reward. 3. For our work shall be tested with fire so that it’s goodness be seen by all men. If your work survives purifying fire, your reward shall be life eternal. 4. Some may say I’m for Paul or I’m for Apollos for God alone will bless our efforts. For Jesus Christ is the only foundation and our reward one day shall be revealed.

21 They went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught.

22 They were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.

23 Immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,

24 saying, “What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!”

25 Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”

26 The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.

27 They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!”

28 The report of him went out immediately everywhere into all the region of Galilee and its surrounding area.

THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR B

JANUARY 24TH,2021

Gospel: Mark 1: 14-20

14 Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Good News of the Kingdom of God,

15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.”

16 Passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.

17 Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for men.

18 Immediately they left their nets, and followed him.

19 Going on a little further from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.

20 Immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.
